go giants!
last night my friend amy and i went to our first giants game. we were super laggers and only made it for the last two innings. but we did make it in time to grab some beers. priorities! we had fun even though the giants lost the game. afterwards we ended the night with escape from new york pizza and another beer in the neighborhood. ah, the guilt. we had such a great time so it was worth it. but i have to admit a major run is on my agenda tonight!

so today when i was on my prep period (not working on the grading i should have been working on and wishing i could take another vacation/trying to figure out how to afford to go back to nyc) i stumbled upon some photos from my trip that i hadn’t posted. it was so nice seeing friends and checking out a new place. i want to go back to explore more of the city and the museums! i’m hoping to teach summer school so i just may be able to swing another visit sometime soon-ish. until then, a girl can dream (and enjoy the beautiful sf weather).

while in nyc i was all about navy… as usual! new york was pretty awesome. i had never been there before and i wondered if i would have the itch to move there after visiting. i came to the realization that i could do it for a year if i was a trust fund baby and i could come back to my sf apartment after my adventure on the east coast came to a close. i’m dreamin’. point being- i love nyc, but i’m a san francisco girl through and through. while visiting i stayed with my friends erika and beau. they showed me all around manhattan and brooklyn. we visited museums, central park, soho, the chelsea market, greenwich village, williamsburg, and much more. i can’t wait to go back for another visit. but i think it’s going to be awhile until that happens. sigh.

well here’s my first diy! it was just a matter of sanding, priming, and painting. but it still took a bit to get the photos posted because well, i’m a lagger. anyway, the project was pretty simple and actually kinda therapeutic. sometimes when i feel stressed i find that painting or redecorating (or shopping… eek. yep, already failed my shopping hiatus) helps. one thing i would suggest is getting decent brushes- something i went cheap on. it’s such a pain when the bristles get stuck in the paint and then need to be removed which leads to repainting. i won’t make that cheapie decision again. better brushes next time!
