petals and lace.

here’s some inspiration to take us all into the warm weekend. this editorial was shot by athens-based photographer maria petri. these photographs are so pure, blissful, and beautiful.

i’m going to brunch tomorrow at my friend jen’s new place in the sunset. i’ll be wearing a lace cami with a mint skirt (unless the weather decides to change on me)! now the question is where will i locate some petals? i may need to find some gardenias at a flower shop in the mission. i haven’t worn gardenias in my hair since my wedding day almost nine years ago. it’s time to change that!

have a restful weekend!

flower power.

dress: f21 (last seen here)  shoes: target (last summer)  sweater: gap  bangles: thrifted  pin: vintage  bag: gyrson for target (really old)  watch: michael kors (gifted)  sunnies: anthro

the only things that made this outfit look less pajama-like were the flower pin and wedges. i was super cozy all day long and that’s just the way i like it!  the best part about this outfit, aside from the cozy factor, is that all together it was around forty dollars, shoes and bag included. gotta love that!

keepers.

the story behind the frog:

i have always been a fan of pins. lately i’ve gone from a pin fan to full-fledged pin stalker, especially after i found this frog pin at the jcrew factory store in napa. i was digging through a canister of sale accessories and found it for 3 dollars! i adore it. now i’m always on the hunt for adorable pins.

actually the day i wore this outfit we went thrifting and i picked up three vintage pins. i’m currently mad about pins and on the lookout for a turtle to add to the collection. :)

sweater/froggy pin: jcrew factory  dress: forever 21 (only 10.80 and super cozy/versatile) bag: gap shoes: steve madden pembrook  sunglasses: anthropologie

so many of my friends and my husband alike are openly opposed to the sunglasses i’m wearing in this post. brian can’t stand them! he always says, “they make your eyes look too close together.” no matter how many times i try to sell them, he’s just not having them. amy said “i think you’ve got guts wearing those.” and anne said “they’re not my favorite. that’s for sure.” but i have to say i still love them to pieces! so despite all comments to the contrary, i think these sunglasses are lovely. they’re keepers, even if my eyes look too close together!

so this is love.

i love this bianchi pista via brera. i’ve been eyeing this bike for about a year. it’s beautiful and made to last! my plan is to do some side work this summer and taper my shopping habit once again. i may not have this beauty any time soon, but one day this lovely bike shall be mine… all mine! and once it’s mine i’m going to start riding it to work and all over the city. it will be good for my health and the environment. sounds like a good plan, right?! :)

mermaid tears.

today was the first morning i actually shot an outfit before going to work. it wasn’t too bad. brian was so sweet to take the photos for me. maybe this will start an outfit shoot in the morning trend.

so i just have to say i’m jazzed about this opi nail polish called mermaid tears. i love the color and the name. i’m pretty sure it’s my new favorite. i also love orange!

what about you? orange you mad about orange this spring?

i couldn’t resist. yep. total dork.

tacolicious.

when amy came up to look for apartments we went to tacolicious for lunch. it was yummy. i really loved the shrimp salad, chips and salsa, and the cod taco. they also have four tacos for 13 bucks- perfect for sharing with a friend. i want to go back to share some tacos and sip on the paloma margarita which is made with grapefruit and elderberry. i’m so jazzed about trying that margarita. i loooooove grapefruit!

the food was good and the ambiance was cool. if you love tacos, give this place a whirl!

now it’s time for me to do some spring cleaning since my closet looks like an episode of hoarders. then i will be off to the park to enjoy the sun. perhaps i will hit some thrift shops along the way. oohhh, and i may need to try that margarita today! ahhh, saturdays.

dolores weather.

the weekend is finally here and i’m so ready for it! the crazy winds have finally subsided and the weather is so warm and sunny. this lovely weather calls for a picnic in dolores park for sure! any fun plans this weekend? if you’re in sf, let’s go to the park!

this is my awesome friend amy. i love her personal style so when she came to visit it was the perfect opportunity for me to photograph her. she is super photogenic so she was an easy subject. anyway, i’m so excited because she is moving up to the bay area in about two weeks which means i will get to see her more often. yay! this girl is so talented and fun to be around! can’t wait to see her more often and snap some more photos of her!
