yesterday was so much fun! anne, rachel, amy, and i spent the better part of the afternoon in dolores park eating snacks and drinking wine. it was the perfect way to kick off summer. i can’t wait to go on some trips with my gals. we’re all excited about summer and the positive changes headed our way. so naturally, we had a mini celebration in the park. cheers to friendship and new beginnings.

while in nyc i was all about navy… as usual!  new york was pretty awesome. i had never been there before and i wondered if i would have the itch to move there after visiting. i came to the realization that i could do it for a year if i was a trust fund baby and i could come back to my sf apartment after my adventure on the east coast came to a close. i’m dreamin’. point being- i love nyc, but i’m a san francisco girl through and through. while visiting i stayed with my friends erika and beau. they showed me all around manhattan and brooklyn. we visited museums, central park, soho, the chelsea market, greenwich village, williamsburg, and much more. i can’t wait to go back for another visit. but i think it’s going to be awhile until that happens. sigh.

okay, i will be the first to admit that i’m not the thrift shopper i once was. however, i still couldn’t resist ripping off morrissey’s lyrics and making them cater to this blog post, haha… total nerd! anyway, yesterday was such a lovely day! anne and i went for coffee at philz, hit some thrift shops, and grabbed lunch and dinner. let me tell you anne was HOT at the thrift stores and i, on the other hand, was not. she found me the cutest (almost new) bcbg maxazria skirt for 7.50 and the cutest high waisted plaid skirt for herself for 6.50! it’s finds like those that make me want to run out to the thrift stores again today with my good luck charm anne, haha. to be fair, i did find her a pair of super cute vintage wedges at thrift town. i’m really going to hit the thrift stores more often (with claritin ready to go… the dust is killer). it’s time to get a little thrifty and live up to my blog title! i think i may need to drag brian out for some coffee and thrifting today… round two.

as for the rest of the weekend, i need to prepare for getting back to the grind. i already got a great deal of lesson planning done the other night but i still have some activities and notes to create. i’ll be teaching the stranger, the metamorphosis, the crucible, and reviewing the ap winter break reading, the scarlet letter. i’m going to be one busy english teacher. this vacation was much needed and very rejuvenating, so i think i’m ready to go back on monday. have a good weekend! shoes

hey! hey! hey! well i officially completed my cleanse on sunday morning and i honestly couldn’t feel better. the first day was the toughest and after that it got much easier. the biggest lesson i’ve learned is that i need to be more cognizant of what i put into my body. now that i’ve completed the cleanse i just want to eat healthier and keep juicing. watch out i might turn into a juicing nerd. i’m super into it!

anyway, brian and i went to the store early sunday morning to grab more produce and we snapped these iphone photos just for fun. it was raining like crazy all weekend so we weren’t out and about too much. i love the rain! it’s so nice bundling up, listening to records, and having an excuse to just hangout at home.

i decided it was time to bring bangs back! some more ch-ch-changes. we just got back from a road trip that i sort of romanticized in my head before we left. but after dealing the with insane holiday traffic and spending over ten hours in the car yesterday, i have to say never again. next time we’ll fly! anyway, i’ve got lots of cool photos to share including an outfit post of my best friend! but for now it’s time to go grocery shopping, run errands, and go running. hope you had a wonderful holiday!

the colors in this outfit kinda remind me of a ladybug! i wore this sunday for a date brian and i had at the ferry building. we had such a wonderful time together and it reminded both of us that we need to go on real dates more often. we are very busy most of the time. however, quality time together is too important to overlook. that’s why we really need to schedule in awesome dates at least once a week! i mean we spend time together daily, but i’m a girl and i want real dates! ones that require getting dressed! not merely hitting the submit order button on grubhub whilst wearing a facial mask and pjs. for our next date, i want to head out to wine country for lunch and wine tasting. i can’t wait!

on another note, i’m also looking forward to getting back in shape. brian and i rode our bikes to the ferry building and back. it’s a pretty easy ride but it was nice to get some exercise in nonetheless. i’ve been running more lately too but i still really need to step it way up. ever since running the half marathon i just haven’t stuck to my regular running schedule. perhaps, that’s why i’ve been getting sick so often… i haven’t been breaking a sweat enough. it’s time to get back in gear. for real!
